There are a number of Graphic Designers who provide their skills online these days. Perhaps there are too many. This article discusses some important things to know about graphic designers and what to look for when ordering a logo, brochure, or any of the other innumerable reasons to hire a Graphic Design Agency Miami for your company's or organization's branding. Graphic design services, like any other service, have been on the decline for quite some time now (in this Designer's perspective). Take, for example, logos. I can't tell you how many logos I've seen that have a swoosh or swipe-like design that appears to orbit the text that makes up the logo.
I'd like to assure you that the designers who developed the tens of thousands of swoosh logos out there did so because it was the best solution for their clients. I can already hear them explaining how this seemingly simple aspect is actually a nuanced and well-developed "less is more" approach to their client's design that is well worth the hundreds of dollars they are charging. I wish I could tell you that, but I am afraid that is not the case.
I'm not implying that if your logo has a swoosh, you were duped by a con artist wanting to make quick cash on a simple design that attracts your attention. In reality, I've utilized a swoosh or two in my designs (albeit typically at the request of my clients and never as the sole design feature). What I mean is that if you look at how many logos there are, you'll see that this visual swoosh element appears in a lot of them. It's clear that a lot of graphic design companies these days are just trying to get their orders filled as quickly as possible without really thinking about the design's purpose or the client's requirements. It's unfortunate, but true, that most organizations these days are more concerned with seeming like a company than with actually being a company. How many times have you ordered something only to discover afterward that it was only a sales gimmick?
So, how do you know whether you're employing a true Graphic Design Services who is focused on performing real design work, rather than one of the numerous impostors out there pretending to put the time and effort into your design that you're paying good money for? The facts are a good place to start.
Take a look at their design portfolio next. Do the designs appear to be similar? Although the parts of the designs may differ (due to the fact that they are for different companies), are they all roughly the same and use the same type? Is it just a case of swooshes on everything? If that's the case, you've arrived at the website of one of the impostors who uses visual gimmicks to wow their customers and make a transaction.
